Each year on or before October 25, the Klamath County Tax Collector sends out statements for taxes on all real, personal, manufactured structures and utility accounts on the assessment and tax roll. If you have moved it is your responsibility to contact the Klamath County Assessor’s Office with your current address. If you do not receive a tax bill by November 1st, please contact the tax office at proptax@klamathcounty.org. Even if you do not receive a tax bill, you must pay your taxes. If you choose not to pay the full amount by November 15th, please be aware that we only send out one tax bill a year. The payment schedule is below or you can refer to the backside of your bill.

Full Payment
Pay the full amount of taxes on or before November 15th and receive a 3% discount
2/3 Payment
Pay the 2/3 payment on or before November 15th and receive a 2% discount. The final 1/3 payment is due by May 15th.
1/3 Payment
Pay the 1/3 payment on or before November 15th and receive no discount. The second 1/3 payment is due by February 15th. The final 1/3 payment is due by May 15th.

Don't Be Late!

Be sure to have your payment postmarked by November 15th. If the postmark is after November 15th, discounts are lost and interest will accrue on the past due portions at 1.333%.

Cash, checks, and electronic payments (fees apply) will be accepted from taxpayers wishing to make payments in person at the Tax Collector's Office, 305 Main Street, Room 121, during office hours.

The Tax Collector will also accept a check or money order by mail to the same address above. When mailing payment by check or money order, remember to include your account number on the check or money order. Please do not mail cash payments. Payments are considered timely if post marked on or before the due date.


Policies

Refunds

All tax payments received are applied to the indicated tax account. If a tax account is overpaid, a refund will be issued. There is no refund for the convenience fee on electronic payments.

Privacy

Klamath County will endeavor in good faith to keep taxpayer’s credit card numbers, expiration dates, and security codes private, subject to compliance with the Oregon Public Records Law. Taxpayer expressly acknowledges and agrees that the use of any information or link appearing on the Klamath County Web Site is at the taxpayers’ sole risk. Klamath County shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages caused by mistakes, omissions, deletions, errors, defects, or any failure or delays.
